Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig left Monday's game against the Colorado Rockies with a mild right knee strain, the team announced.

According to MLB.com Dodgers beat reporter Ken Gurnick, Puig suffered the injury after sliding into third base on a single by first baseman Adrian Gonzalez in the sixth inning. He stayed in the game and scored on Hanley Ramirez's sacrifice fly, but he did not come back out to play the field in the bottom of the sixth.

The Dodgers are already close to wrapping up the National League West title — but any significant time Puig spends away from the time because of the injury would affect their chances of capturing home-field advantage throughout the National League playoffs.

Since making his debut in early June, Puig is hitting .351 with 14 homers, 32 RBI, and a .974 OPS.
