Report: Alex Rodriguez's appeal scheduled for Sept. 30

New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez's appeal of MLB's 211-game suspension is scheduled for Sept. 30, according to Steven Marcus of Newsday.

The location for Rodriguez's appeal hasn't been disclosed. The appeal will likely take place in New York.

If the Yankees make the playoffs, however, ESPN's Andrew Marchand of ESPN New York reports the appeal could be delayed. Rodriguez has been allowed to play despited being suspended by MLB for 211 games.

In 27 games with the Yankees this season, Rodriguez is hitting .283 with four home runs and 10 RBI. Rodriguez is still owed $87 million until the 2017 season but will not be paid during the ban.

The Yankees entered play on Friday 2.5 games behind the Tampa Bay Rays for the final wild card.
