San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh was not too pleased about Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews' extra-curricular activities on the field during the 49ers' 34-28 victory on Sunday.

Harbaugh said that Matthews' image was tarnished when he hit 49ers tackle Joe Staley during a second-quarter scuffle that broke out following Matthews’ late hit on Colin Kaepernick, after the San Francisco QB was several yards out of bounds.

“I looked at it with my own eyes,” Harbaugh said via Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. “I could see two punches thrown to Joe’s head -- well, one punch and one open slap, which . . . if you’re going to go to the face, come with some knuckles. I think that young man works very hard on being a tough guy. He’ll have some repairing to do to his image after the slap."

Staley and Matthews were both hit with 15-yard penalties.
