The availability of Patriots receiver Danny Amendola for Thursday's game against the Jets could be in doubt, according to the Boston Herald. Amendola was not visible to media members at the start of the team's Tuesday morning walkthrough.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported that Amendola is almost certain to miss the Jets game.

Amendola aggravated his groin injury in Sunday's win over the Bills. The injury, however, did not hamper his impressive Patriots debut, which included 10 catches for 104 yards.

BURKE: Andrew Luck is still money in the clutch

The Patriots are not practicing in pads during the short week before Thursday night's nationally-televised game. The Herald included a disclaimer in its report, and explained why any player missing today's walkthrough might be questionable against the Jets:

As a disclaimer, players arrived in bunches, weren't wearing uniforms and didn't actually take the field until the media departed, so there is room for error in the media attendance report. The Patriots will release the official practice report at 4 p.m.

The Patriots aren't practicing in pads this week, so the walkthroughs are vital for the installation of the game plan. If Amendola, or any player, doesn't participate to at least observe, it's hard to imagine him playing in the actual game. For instance, Rob Gronkowski, Logan Mankins and Chandler Jones were the only three players absent from last season's Tuesday walkthrough before the Thanksgiving game against the Jets, and they didn't play in the game.
