Cody Hodgson announces Sabres extension via Vine
Cody Hodgson announced Wednesday his signing of a six-year extension with the Sabres via a Vine video distributed by the team's Twitter account.
Hodgson, 23, was a restricted free agent and second on the team in scoring last season. He scored 34 points in 48 games last season, behind Thomas Vanek's 41 points.
Terms of his new contract were not released by the team, but he played with a base salary of $787,500 last season and turned down the Sabres' one-year qualifying offer of $826,875.
“We are extremely excited to have signed Cody to a long-term deal,” Sabres general manager Darcy Regier said in a press release.https://twitter.com/BuffaloSabres/status/377918151792812033
“We feel he is going to be an important piece of our organization’s success in the future and look forward to watching him develop as a player.”
