The NFL fined Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews  $15,000 for his hit Sunday on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, NFL.com reports.

Matthews hit Kaepernick out of bounds during the second quarter of  the team's 34-28 loss and was flagged 15 yards.

49ers left tackle Joe Staley was also flagged when he took exception to the hit.

"I think that young man works very hard on being a tough guy," 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said Monday of Matthews. "He'll have some repairing to do to his image after the slap."
Matthews insisted that he is not a dirty player when asked about Harbaugh's comments.
