The Washington Nationals have scratched starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg from his start on Friday against with forearm tightness the Philadelphia Phillies, according to Washington Post reporter James Wagner.

Wagner reports that Strasburg had experienced tightness in his hamstring after a start 11 days ago. Wagner also notes that Strasburg went through his normal in-between-starts routine since the hamstring tightness without a hitch.

Strasburg's last start came against the Miami Marlins where he earned the victory despite allowing four runs and six hits over six innings of work. On the season, Strasburg is 7-9 with a 2.96 ERA and 181 strikeouts in 170 innings pitched. The Nationals entered play on Friday 5.5 games back of the final wild card spot in the National League.
