The Cleveland Browns will start quarterback Brian Hoyer against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, the team announced on Twitter.

Starter Brandon Weeden sprained his thumb against the Ravens on Sunday and will miss this week's game. Weeden will be reevaluated before Week 4.

Veteran Jason Campbell was listed as Weeden's backup, but coach Rob Chudzinski chose to start Hoyer, a fifth-year pro out of Michigan State.
