The Atlanta Braves activated outfielder Jason Heyward from the 15-day disabled list on Friday, the team announced.
Heyward wasn't expected back until next week from a broken jaw that sidelined him for a month. He will play center field and bat in the leadoff spot Friday against the Chicago Cubs.
Heyward was hitting the ball well at the time he got hurt. He was batting .366 with five home runs and 15 RBI in the last 21 games that he suited up for Atlanta.
