Pitcher C.C. Sabathia is finished for the season after straining his hamstring, the Yankees announced on Monday.  The strain is in Sabathia's left leg and, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, will take at least 2 months to recover.

New York's postseason chances are fading as the season nears its end. The Yankees, losers in six of their past nine games, trail the Cleveland Indians by four games for the second American League Wild Card spot with only six games remaining in the season. Sabathia, a six-time All-Star and the 2007 Cy Young Award winner, will finish the season with a 4.78 ERA and 14-13 record, his worst numbers since joining the Yankees in 2009.
