Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson suffered a freak finger injury Sunday against the Saints. Kent Somer of the Arizona Republic reports Johnson lost the top of his left middle finger -- down to the knuckle -- while tackling Darren Sproles on a punt return.

When Johnson removed his glove, the top of his finger was still in the glove. He wrapped it up and returned to play for the remainder of the Cardinals' 31-7 loss.

BANKS: Least of the NFC East

On Sunday night, Johnson had surgery on the injury. No word yet if he's available for next week's game against the Buccaneers.
