Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker could miss up to eight weeks after injuring his hip during the team's victory over the New York Jets, reports ESPN.com.

Titans head coach Mike Munchak said on Monday that Locker spent the night in a hospital.

Locker was injured and taken off in a cart after he was hit in the third quarter of the 38-13 victory by Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson and Jets linebacker Quinton Coples.

Locker also has a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee and will have another MRI on his hip on Tuesday.

Locker was 18-24 for 149 yards with a career-high three touchdown passes at the time he was injured and veteran back Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the starting nod this week against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Wilkerson said he did not think the play that injured Locker was dirty or late.

"If it was late, the ref would have thrown a flag," Wilkerson said. "They didn't throw a flag."
