South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw will start this weekend against Kentucky, head coach Steve Spurrier said Wednesday.
Shaw sprained his shoulder last weekend in a 28-25 win at Central Florida.
Shaw was expected to be out up to three weeks. He did practice Monday and Spurrier said Shaw was able to throw the ball 60 yards.
"Our trainer had him out two to three weeks," Spurrier said earlier this week. "You'll have to ask our trainers how he made such a miraculous recovery."
Shaw left the Central Florida game, did not return and was seen on the sidelines with his throwing arm in a sling and ice on his shoulder. The oft-injured quarterback had an injury to the same shoulder last season. Shaw is completing 64.5 percent of his passes and has thrown for 665 yards six touchdowns and no interceptions this season.
