The Oakland Raiders have "definite interest" in signing Josh Freeman, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Freeman, who was released by the Buccaneers after a contentious start to the season, could help the Raiders, who recently demoted backup QB Matt Flynn to third string. CBSSports.com reports that it is unknown if Freeman would compete with Terrelle Pryor for the starting job should Oakland choose to sign him.
The former Bucs QB had asked for a trade early in the season, and was fined repeatedly by the team before being benched for last week's game and then released.
The Raiders are not expected to make any moves before their game against the Chargers on Sunday night.
