Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola was accused of making obscene and homophobic remarks to members of the University of Wisconsin band prior to his team's 22-9 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

According to Pro Football Talk, the team is investigating the incident.

"We are aware of the reports involving Dominic Raiola and the University of Wisconsin Marching Band," the Lions said in a statement. "Those reports are extremely inconsistent with the standard of behavior we expect from our players and from every member of our organization. We currently are gathering more information and will respond further when appropriate."

Raiola has been disciplined twice by the team for getting into it with fans, receiving a $7,500 fine in 2008 and a $15,000 fine in 2010.

When asked about the incident on Monday, Raiola said it had been "blown way out of proportion."
