Texans tight end Daniels placed on short-term injured reserve
Two-time Pro Bowler Owen Daniels will be out at least eight weeks with a non-displaced fibula fracture that he suffered in Sunday night's 34-3 loss to the 49ers, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Twitter.
Per NFL rules, the soonest Daniels could return is Houston's Week 14 Thursday night game in Jacksonville. The Texans (2-3) are already two games behind the Colts for first place in the AFC South.
Daniels, who had 24 receptions for 252 yards and three touchdowns in the first five games, will be replaced by fourth-year player Garrett Graham. In two tight end sets, the Texans will use fourth-round draft pick Ryan Griffin.
