Minnesota Vikings quarterback Matt Cassel is expected to get his second consecutive start on Sunday, at home against the Carolina Panthers, according to a tweet on Thursday morning from Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Cassel reportedly will get the nod in place of Josh Freeman, who signed with the Vikings after being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this month.

The Vikings' other quarterback, Christian Ponder, has been cleared to return from a rib injury suffered during Minnesota's loss to the Browns. He missed the Vikings' Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in London. As Schefter reported, however, the team isn't ready to put him back into game action yet.
At the end of September, head coach Leslie Frazier said that Ponder will be the starter for the Vikings (1-3) as long as he's healthy.
