Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price said Wednesday that he is preparing himself to get traded during the offseason, but would like to stay with the team.

Price held a conference call with reporters to discuss his future and said he hasn't talked with management about a long-term deal.

Price made $10.1 million this season in his second season of salary arbitration eligibility.

"If you go with what’s been done in the past I guess you’re going to have to think you’re going to get traded,” Price said, via the Tampa Tribune. “It’s crossed my mind several time.....in Texas as well and every other (elimination game) we’ve played.”

Price, who won the American League Cy Young Award last season, went 10-8 with a 3.33 ERA and 151 strikeouts this season.

“You’ve seen it happen a couple of times already I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I know what’s happened in the past," he said about leaving Tampa. “It’s not disappointing or anything like that. This is a place I love to be. My teammates and everyone in the organization knows that. It’s part of baseball and it’s something I’ve seen go on, it’s kind of something I somewhat prepared myself for.”
