Bills sign quarterback Matt Flynn
The Bills plan to sign free-agent quarterback Matt Flynn on Monday, the team announced Monday.
Th Bills have resorted to a combination of Jeff Tuel and Thad Lewis at quarterback since rookie starter E.J. Manuel was sidelined with a sprained LCL.
Last week, SI.com's Jim Trotter reported that the Raiders released 2012's top quarterback free agent despite having traded Seattle a 2014 fifth-round draft pick and signed him to a contract with $6.5 million guaranteed. Terrell Pryor won the starting job in training camp and Matt McGloin moved ahead of Flynn as the Raiders' backup.
"I don't know exactly what the reason was, why that didn't work, but it didn't work," coach Dennis Allen said of the trade. "Terrelle came in and took over the job. He's earned the position that he's in, so we just felt like it was probably best to go ahead and move on from that."
