New York Jets players went to the media yesterday telling how head coach Rex Ryan made a request for the team to abstain from household activities prior to this weekend's game against New England Patriots.

According to Ryan, that request did not include sex, as was earlier reported.

"I did not tell our players not to have sex," Ryan said today.

Newly-acquired kick returner Josh Cribbs said that in a team meeting on Wednesday, Ryan wanted his team rested for the Patriots, saying, “Don’t do nothing for your wife.”

"He was like...rest your legs, you go home, don't do nothing for your wife. Say, baby, next week," said Cribbs to the New York Daily News. “You'll take out the trash next week. I'll take the kids to practice next week but I've got to rest for this game."

Jets defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson said the message also implied abstaining from sex as well.

“Most definitely," said Richardson told the News with an ear-to-ear grin, when asked if Rex’s message included hanky panky.
“I'm going to tell him to put it on paper so when I give it to my wife, I can be like, Rex said that I don't got to take out the trash. So he might get a call."
