The Buccaneers confirmed running back Doug Martin would miss Thursday's game with a torn labrum, but he could return to help salvage the season. Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports via Twitter that the team is optimistic Martin can return by Week 10.

Rapoport reports the next two weeks will determine if Martin returns or if the Bucs shut him down for the season.

Martin was asked Tuesday if his shoulder injury was season-ending.

“No,” Martin said. “Right now, I’m doing treatment on it with the trainers and taking it day by day and seeing how it feels. It’s definitely gotten better. And my range of motion has increased day to day.”
