New England Patriots cornerback Logan Ryan was fined $10,000 by the NFL on Thursday for his mid-air crotch grab during a touchdown celebration in the team's 30-27 road loss to New York Jets, according to a tweet from ProFootballTalk.

It's unclear whether Ryan will appeal the fine.

The 22-year-old Rutgers product had intercepted a Geno Smith pass and returned the ball for a 79 yard touchdown before making the obscene gesture.

There was no flag on the play. (GIF of the play below via Guyism.)

Special teams captain Matthew Slater said to the media earlier this week that the incident is "one of those things" that needs to be dealt with internally:

"I don't want to get into too much detail talking about that, but there are certain things that come over the season that we have to handle in-house, and I think that's one of those things. He's a great kid, and he's been nothing but respectful since he's gotten here. That's something we just have to handle in-house...We don’t look at that as being a problem in the future. It’ll be taken care of.”
