Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was held out of practice on Thursday and admitted that a recent hamstring injury has made him tentative running the ball.

Peterson made the comments to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, but he is still slated to play this weekend against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night.

Peterson, who has 511 rushing yards and five touchdowns this season, told the paper that he suffered a bruise on his hamstring about five weeks ago and the injury started to cause him gradual tightness which made him tentative. He said the injury overall is more a mental thing than a physical issue.

Peterson carried the ball only 13 times in Monday's night loss to the New York Giants.
