Report: Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov arrested on domestic violence charge

Colorado Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov was arrested Wednesday for domestic violence related charges, Ryan Parker and Nick Groke of the Denver Post report.

Varlamov is 7-1 this season with a .945 save percentage, which ranks fourth in the NHL. He has a 1.76 goals against average, which is fifth in the league.

He has helped the Avalanche start 10-1, which is the best record in the Western Conference. The team's next game is in Dallas against the Stars on Friday.

"The Colorado Avalanche organization is aware of the allegations concerning Semyon Varlamov. At this time, and until the conclusion of this investigation, the Avalanche organization will have no further comment on this situation," the team said in a statement.

Varlamov, 25, is in his third season in Colorado. He spent his first three seasons in the league with the Washington Capitals.
