Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has signed a one-year, $12 million deal with the Yankees, the team announced on Friday.

Jeter, 39, played in only 17 games last season as he dealt with a series of setbacks following the broken ankle he suffered in Game 1 of the 2012 ALCS. Jeter, who'll be entering his 20th Major League season, is a career .312 hitter with 256 home runs and 1,261 RBIs.

His 3,316 career hits are 10th all-time, just three behind Paul Molitor for ninth place and 119 behind Cap Anson, who is sixth.
