Louisville guard Kevin Ware played in his first game on Wednesday night since suffering a broken leg seven months ago in a NCAA Tournament game against Duke.

Ware entered the exhibition game against Pikeville in the second half to a standing ovation.

Ware made his first shot, a 3-pointer, and finished the contest with six points and four rebounds in 10 minutes.  The Cardinals won the game 90-61.

Ware was cleared to practice with full contact on Sunday but was not expected to play Wednesday.

"I wanted to get him some minutes just to get him over the jitters in case I need to use him against Charleston," Louisville head coach Rick Pitino told reporters after the game. "I was a little nervous," Ware said, via ESPN.com. "I didn't expect to get in so late. Me and Coach didn't really talk about it."
