Charlotte Bobcats assistant head coach Patrick Ewing will coach the team tonight against the New York Knicks while head coach Steve Clifford recovers from having two stents placed in his heart, the team announced.

Clifford, 52, was admitted to the hospital late on Thursday night because he was not feeling well after suffering chest pains.

The team says that Clifford went in for tests on Friday morning and that doctors concluded that a procedure was necessary to place the two stents in his heart.
