Florida Gators recruit Chris Walker may be able to join the basketball team as soon as January, according to David Jones of Florida Today.

The 2013 McDonald's All-American was declared ineligible for the fall semester due to academic troubles in high school, but the NCAA granted Walker eligibility to enroll at Florida for the upcoming semester.

While the 6'11" incoming freshman has not yet received the full clearance needed to play with the team next semester, he has overcome a major challenge.
