Catcher Carlos Ruiz, who'll turn 35 in January, re-signed with the Phillies, the only team he's ever played for, on Monday to a three-year, $26 million deal, according to Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Ruiz served a 25-game suspension last season after testing positive for amphetamines. He finished with a .268 batting average, five home runs and 37 RBIs in 92 games after making his first All-Star Game in 2012. He is a career .274 hitter in eight big league seasons.

The Phillies also have Erik Kratz and rookie Cameron Rupp on their roster at catcher.

The Rockies, Red Sox and Blue Jays were also rumored to be in the running for Ruiz.

Brian McCann, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and A.J. Pierzynski are the top remaining catchers on the free-agent market.
