Michael Vick: Nick Foles should remain Eagles' starting quarterback

Nick Foles has 16 touchdown passes, two rushing touchdowns and zero interceptions this season and has led the Eagles to first place in the NFC East at 6-5. While head coach Chip Kelly continues to say the starting quarterback job is a week-to-week proposition, even Michael Vick doesn't think Foles' hot streak can be overlooked.
“In all honesty, in all fairness, how can you take a guy out of the game who’s been playing so well?” said Vick, who is still healing from a nagging hamstring injury, about the 24-year-old Foles during his weekly radio spot on 94 WIP in Philadelphia.
“I’ve been in this stage before, and I know what it’s like. I understand the position that this team is in, and the one thing I never want to do is be a distraction or put our team or our coaches in a position where they feel like they’re not doing the right thing, or I feel like they’re not doing the right thing.

Foles' streak of 199 straight passes without an interception is second in franchise history and he leads the NFL with a 127.9 passer rating. In six games, Vick completed 54.6 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and three interceptions.
“[Foles] had an opportunity to learn from me this year and last year and just sit behind me and pick my brain, and he also went out and played the game, and now he’s just taking that and everything is unfolding for him,” Vick, the four-time Pro Bowler, said. “He can potentially be a starter in this league for a long time. It’s just about timing, as of right now. As long as he keeps doing what he’s doing, he’s going to continue to build that case.”
The Eagles are on their bye week before playing host to the Cardinals in Week 13.
