Report: Red Sox have asked Dodgers about Matt Kemp

In Aug. 2012, the Red Sox and Dodgers made a blockbuster trade, with Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford and Josh Beckett heading to L.A. But now, a high-priced player may be heading east from Hollywood.
Boston has inquired about Matt Kemp's availability, a major league source reportedly told The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo.

Talks are reportedly preliminary, as the Red Sox are looking to protect themselves in centerfield should free agent Jacoby Ellsbury sign elsewhere.
Kemp, who turned 29 in September, played only 73 games last season and 106 in 2012 and is owed $130 million over the next six years.
He finished second in the NL MVP voting in 2011 after leading the NL with 39 home runs and 126 RBIs while hitting .324.
The Blue Jays and Mariners are also among the handful of teams to inquire about Kemp.
