Packers coach Mike McCarthy: 'Slim to none' chance Aaron Rodgers plays on Thanksgiving

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said that there is a "slim to none" chance that quarterback Aaron Rodgers will start Thanksgiving and wouldn't name a starter for the game against the Detroit Lions.

McCarthy said during his press conference that Rodgers wants to play in the game and that he will prepare both Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien for the contest.

Flynn came on in relief of starter Tolzien during the 26-26 tie against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday and completed 21 of 36 passes for 218 yards and one touchdown.

"Matt Flynn played very well, he deserves to start," McCarthy said. "I like the way Scott has grown. We're going to do best we can to get both ready."

Rodgers has been out since for the past three weeks after being injured in the Packers' loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 9.

The Packers (5-5-1) are currently behind the Bears and Lions in the NFC North.
