The Milwaukee Bucks have sent a letter to Mayor Tom Barrett and members of the City Council voicing their opposition to a proposed gentleman's club that would be located immediately across the street from the main entrance to the team's Bradley Center.

According to a report from Stacey Vogel Davis of Milwaukee's The Business Journal, the letter sent to the city's mayor and council members last Friday was also signed by Milwaukee's minor league hockey team, the Admirals, as well as nearby Marquette University.

All three organizations believe that if the city moves forward with the proposed plans for the club, it will hurt the public's perception of the area:

"Without a doubt, the presence of a strip club will change the way our neighborhood is perceived and hurt our business,” the letter said.

The board of the Bradley Center has also sent a letter to city officials asking them to consider the effects of placing the strip club in such close proximity to the stadium.

Downtown Silk MME is the company that filed the proposal with the city of Milwaukee and is seeking tavern and entertainment licenses for a vacant 8,800-square-foot restaurant and bar space.

According to the report, citing the letter, the proposed space for the strip club would be located in a city parking garage where Bradley Center customers park, and many of them are families with young children that opponents to the plans say would perhaps give them pause about using the garage and possibly visiting the arena.
