Christian Ponder will remain on the Minnesota Vikings' sideline with a possible concussion, according to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Ponder suffered the injury late in the first half and was sent to the locker room early. The Vikings put former starter Matt Cassel under center to begin the second half, with Joe Webb moving in to the backup position. Minnesota's mid-season acquisition Josh Freeman is inactive for the game as a healthy scratch.

Ponder had regained his starting job with the team a week ago, when he led the Vikings to a 26-26 tie against NFC North rivals, the Green Bay Packers.
