Washington names Marques Tuiasosopo interim coach for bowl game
Washington named quarterback coach Marques Tuiasosopo the interim head coach for the team's bowl game, the school announced Wednesday.
Tuiasosopo, 34, is in his first season as the Huskies quarterbacks coach. Former coach Steve Sarkisian left the school this week to become the head coach at conference foe, USC.
Tuiasosopo has been on staff since last season, leaving UCLA after serving as the team's tight end coach.
“I’m humbled and so honored,” Tuiasosopo said in a statement. “It’s a great, incredible honor to lead my alma mater in a bowl game.
“We still have a lot to play for this season. I am excited to go out and get a ninth win.”
