Amid a drastic turnaround from the team, Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland has received assurances that his job is safe, The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reported Monday.

Those reported assurances have come as the team has won three of its last four games, a significant turnaround from a rock-bottom loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that coincided with an investigation into the Richie Incognito-Jonathan Martin situation. In mid-November, a plane flew over Sun Life Stadium calling for his firing.

After Sunday's 34-28 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the 7-6 Dolphins are tied with the Baltimore Ravens for the final AFC wild-card spot.

The combination of the team's improvement, combined with the smoothing Martin-Incognito situation, seem to be working in Ireland's favor. In late November, the Dolphins and Incognito reached an agreement to continue his suspension with pay while the investigation ensues.
