The Arizona Diamondbacks have offered reliever Joba Chamberlain a one-year contract worth nearly $3 million, according to Buster Olney of ESPN.
Chamberlain is a free agent for the first time after pitching for the New York Yankees for his entire seven-year career. Injuries and an ill-fated attempt at becoming a starting pitcher have kept Chamberlain from reaching the promise shown in his first seasons in the major leagues.
The reliever posted a career-worst 4.93 ERA last season in 42.0 innings pitched. https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/410512946557489153
