The Mets and pitcher Bartolo Colon have agreed to a two-year deal worth $20 million, as first reported by Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. The contract -- pending a physical -- was confirmed by various media.

Colon, 40, was 18-6 with a 2.65 ERA (141 ERA+) and a 4.03 K/BB in 190 1/3 innings for the A's in 2013. He made the American League All-Star team and placed sixth in the AL Cy Young voting.

He's experienced some ups and downs in his last three MLB seasons, sandwiching a 36-25 record and a 3.32 ERA in 507 innings around a 50-game suspension for failing a performance-enhancing drug test late in the 2012 season.
