Lakers guard Steve Blake out for at least six weeks with elbow injury

Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Blake will be out a minimum of six weeks after suffering a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, the team announced Thursday.

Blake, 33, is averaging 9.8 points and 7.7 assists per game while shooting 40 percent from three-point range in 21 games this season. In the last game he played, Dec. 10 against Phoenix, Blake played 39 minutes, scoring nine points and dishing out 10 assists.

The Lakers are short on guard depth with point guard Steve Nash still rehabbing his back and Jordan Farmar out with a hamstring injury. Nash hasn't played since Nov. 10.
