Notre Dame readmitted suspended quarterback Everett Golson to the university, the school announced Friday.

Golson admitted to Sports Illustratedthat he was caught cheating on an exam last spring, which led to his dismissal from the school.

Golson led the Irish to the BCS National Championship Game last season, but the Irish lost to Alabama 42-14.  He threw for 2,405 yards with 12 touchdowns and rushed for 298 rushing yards with six touchdowns.

Golson will not be able to practice with the team during their bowl preparations. Notre Dame plays Rutgers in New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium in New York on Dec. 28.
