The agent for Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz is meeting with the team in hopes of signing Ortiz to a contract extension, reports Rob Bradford of WEEI.com.

Ortiz's contract ends after next season. He will make $15 million in 2014 as part of a two-year, $26 million contract he signed in 2012.

Ortiz, 38, hit .309 with 30 home runs and 103 RBI last season with the Red Sox.
