The Grizzlies are shopping power forward Zach Randolph and the Pelicans could be involved in a potential deal, according to Jared Zwerling of Bleacher Report.
The name being mentioned by Zwerling's sources: Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson.
"A trade centered around Randolph and Anderson should happen down the line this season," one source said.
Randolph told ESPN last month that he would like to retire in Memphis. On Wednesday the NBA presented him with the November Kia Community Assist Award in recognition of his charitable efforts and contributions in the community. But Randolph is 32 and could exercise a $16.9 million player option for 2014-15 -- if he doesn't elect to become a free agent. The emergence of restricted free agent Ed Davis at power forward could give the Grizzlies more impetus to trade Randolph.
The Pelicans could add a low post offensive threat in Randolph, teaming him with Anthony Davis.
Anderson, 25, leads the Pelicans with 21.7 points per game and is a three-point threat hitting 47.7 percent from behind the line.
