Brian Roberts, Yankees reportedly agree to terms

Brian Roberts and the Yankees have agreed on a one-year deal worth around $2 million plus incentives, as first reported by Fox Sports' Jon Morosi and Ken Rosenthal.

The signing is one step in the Yankees' attempts to bolster their infield depth after losing Robinson Cano to the Mariners. They also reportedly have interest in Mark Reynolds and Michael Young. Roberts is considered the better defensive player among the trio of options.

Roberts, 36, has played his entire 13-year career with the Orioles. He became a free agent after completing a four-year, $40-million deal this past season.

Robert has battled injuries of late, having played in just 192 games over the past four seasons. He played in 77 games last season, batting .249 with eight homers, 39 RBI, and a .704 OPS.
