Wrongful death suit filed against Aaron Hernandez

The family of Odin Lloyd has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, according to the Associated Press.

Hernandez, 24, is awaiting trial for the alleged killing of the 27-year-old Lloyd in June. Lloyd, a semi-pro football player, was dating the sister of Hernandez’s girlfriend.

The lawsuit was filed this week in New Bedford, Mass., and seeks unspecified damages. It asks for a hold to be put on any future payment of the $3 million that Hernandez is still owed by the Patriots, as well as a real estate attachment of up to $5 million.
