Rockets end Omer Asik trade talks, plan to keep him for now

Houston's self-imposed deadline to move Omer Asik arrived on Thursday, and with no deal in place, the Rockets plan to keep the big man for now, a league source told Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
The Celtics had become a potential trade partner in recent days, but a deal never materialized.

Dec. 19 is the final day a player involved in a trade can be used in a subsequent deal before the NBA's Feb. 20 trade deadline.
The 27-year-old 7-footer, who is averaging 4.4 points and 6.8 assists in 17 games this season, is owed $15 million next season. He has missed the last seven games with a right thigh injury for the Rockets (17-9).
