Providence College men's basketball freshmen Brandon Austin and Rodney Bullock have been suspended for the remainder of the 2013-14 season, the school announced Monday evening.

According to the Providence Journal's Kevin McNamara, the school issued a brief statement on the suspensions:

"Freshmen Brandon Austin and Rodney Bullock will not compete in games for the College's Men's Basketball Team for the remainder of the 2013-2014 season. The two student-athletes will be able to practice with the team."

The two were initially suspended indefinitely Nov. 6, and neither has played this season.

“We hold our student-athletes to very high standards,” Providence head coach Ed Cooley said in a statement released by the school then. “We are disappointed in some of the choices that Brandon and Rodney have made. Due to this, we have decided to suspend them indefinitely from any game action.”

It's not clear what the next steps are for Providence and both Austin and Bullock. Providence has not explained what violation of the college's Code of Conduct took place. McNamara reported they will not do so, citing federal student privacy laws.

Providence is off to a 10-2 start this season. The Friars are also playing without point guard Kris Dunn, who is out for the season with a shoulder injury.
