Though the U.S. Olympic hockey team's roster won't be announced until after the NHL's Winter Classic on Wednesday, the Detroit Free Press' Helene St. James reports that the team's trio of goalies will include Jimmy Howard, Ryan Miller and Jonathan Quick.

According to the report, Detroit Red Wings goaltender Howard will be the third-string goalie during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

The Buffalo Sabres' Miller turned in a sparkling performance in the 2010 Winter Olympics, when he led the U.S. to a silver medal. He has a strong .924 save percentage this season in Buffalo.

The Los Angeles Kings' Quick has been out since the middle of November with a groin injury. He has not put up his best numbers this season — he has a .905 save percentage. But, of course, he won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Howard is only 6-8-7 this season with a .910 save percentage — and his below-average numbers and a recent injury led to speculation that he could be left off the roster, according to the report.
