Louisville hires former coach Bobby Petrino
Louisville hired Western Kentucky coach Bobby Petrino and he will be announced as their new head coach Thursday, reports ESPN.com's Brett McMurphy.
According to the report, Petrino accepted the job, but contract and buyout terms from Western Kentucky had not been finalized.
Petrino went 41-9 in four seasons at Louisville from 2003-06, leading the team to their first ever BCS Bowl game, a victory over Wake Forest in the 2007 Orange Bowl.
He went 8-4 in his first season at Western Kentucky.
