Seahawks WR Percy Harvin out for NFC Championship Game

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin will not play in the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers because of a concussion, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said, according to Pro Football Talk.
Harvin did not practice all week and did not get clearance from doctors to return to the field.
“He will not make it through the doctors’ protocol and will not be able to go,” Carroll said. “It’s super disappointing for Percy — he wants to play. You can see it, he played his tail off when he had his chance, it’s just unfortunate circumstances.”
Harvin was injured in Saturday's NFC divisional playoff win over New Orleans after hitting his head hard on the turf late in the first half. Harvin left the field earlier in the game after a hit by Saints safety Rafael Bush. Bush was reportedly fined $21,000 for that hit, according to PFT.
The divisional playoff game was just Harvin's second appearance since signing with the team in the offseason. He played one game in November after recovering from hip surgery in August and has played a total of 39 snaps all season.
