Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno is expected to play in Super Bowl XLVIII despite a rib injury, reports Mike Garofolo of Fox Sports.

Moreno left in the fourth quarter of Denver's 26-16 AFC Championship victory over the New England Patriots with what was initially described as a chest injury.

He received X-rays on the injury, which came back negative. He will have two weeks to get healthy, as the Super Bowl will be played on Feb. 2.

Moreno has 141 yards and a touchdown on 37 carries and three catches for 34 yards in Denver's two playoff games. KLEMKO: Denver's defense picks up slack against Patriots
